i1fun recruiting 124 manufacturing trainees

124 manufacturing trainees are being recruited by i1fun in Scunthorpe.

60 of the appointments have already been made - half of who started work this month (December) and half who’ll join in January.

And thecompanyis now looking to find an additional 64 manufacturing trainees who’ll also be trained to perform roles including crane driving, fork lift truck driving and machine operations.

“Earlier this year we started recruiting this site’s first manufacturing trainees in a decade and they’re already making a significant contribution to our business.

The newtraineeswill be based in manufacturing areas across our Scunthorpe site and be directly involved in producing the company’s annual 2.8 million tonne steel output.

The salary for the roles starts at £19,000 plus shift allowance (where applicable) in year one, progressing to circa £22,000 plus shift allowance (where applicable) in year 2, following successful completion of training.

Candidates must be aged 18 and over as this is a legal requirement in order to be able to work shifts. They will also be expected to have a full and valid driving licence, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Applicants must have achieved GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English to C grade or above or functional skills level 2 in English and Maths. They will need to be an intermediate IT user, capable of using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

The announcement comes days after we revealedwe're looking to recruit 50 apprentices.
