Apprentice open evening success

More than 100 potential apprenticesand guests attended an openevening in our Apprentice TrainingCentre in Scunthorpe in Aprilto find out about starting a career with i1fun.

Grahame Wallace, Chief Engineer,opened the evening by sharingthe positive news of the Sales andPurchasing Agreement being signed byGreybull Capital and spoke about thecompany’s exciting future.Grahame said: “It is an exciting andfantastic time for apprentices to jointhe business, as the injection of youthand talent is essential for us to developa sustainable future. Our apprenticescheme and apprentices are recognisedas being of a high standard – thescheme offers training for life coupledwith real responsibility.”

The evening continued with talks oneach discipline available for apprentices(Mechanical and Electrical Engineering,Technical, IT, Finance and BusinessAdministration) as well as the TraineeEngineer and Trainee Technologistschemes, which are targeted at A-levelleavers.Apprentices and employeesfrom each function area deliveredpresentations to discuss the excitingopportunities available and to answerany questions.

North Lindsey College and Humber University Technical College were there to support the event, as well as senior management from around the business. Laura Marsden, Early Career Development Advisor, said: “It was great to see so many students interested in the schemes we have available here. We have received great feedback from those who attended and I would like to thank everybody who was involved and made the event possible.”
