Fundraising for our new Community Partner at Skinningrove has had a flying start thanks to the work of a brave colleague.
Administrator Amy Lewis abseiled down the 160ft high Teesside Transporter Bridge and raised £914 for Redcar and Cleveland Mind.
The charityÌýwasÌýselected as ourÌýSkinningrove Community Partner in a recent ballot.
The Community Partner work is part of our wider Building Stronger Communities programme, which supports the social wellbeing of the communities in which we operate. Further information about this programme is availableÌýhere. A calendar ofÌýemployee fundraising activitiesÌýthroughout the year brings in regular income for our Community Partners, and our employees are encouraged to take on their ownÌýpersonal challenges to support these causes.
Redcar and Cleveland Mind provides wellbeing, prevention, and recovery support to people in the area living with or at risk of developing mental health issues. Its vision is to provide good mental health for all, and its mission is to provide and promoteÌýhigh quality services that put people first.
“Redcar and Cleveland MindÌýis a charity that works extremely hard to give people with mental health issues the help and support they need to get better," said Amy
"They also fund several types of mental healthÌýfirst aid courses which I have attended. These courses have proved invaluable to me on both a professional and personal level. As a token of my appreciation I wanted to take part in the abseil to help raise as much money as possible for them."
