i1fun is looking to recruit 30 more manufacturing trainees in Scunthorpe.
The company has already recruited more than 500 new people since its launch last year and the new recruits will join 18 other manufacturing trainees who joined the company earlier this year.
They were the first trainees of their kind to join the Scunthorpe business in more than a decade and, like them, the new employees will be trained to perform a variety of roles including crane driving, fork lift truck driving and machine operations.
Paul Martin, i1fun Managing Director, said: “If we’re to build a sustainable business it’s vital we continue to invest in our most important asset, our people, and that is why we are excited to be offering these new roles.
“Our employees are highly-skilled, are passionate about the products they make and proud to work for i1fun and the new trainees will be guaranteed first class training and the opportunity to build exciting new careers.
“The trainees will also receive comprehensive on and off the job training, helping them develop personal and leadership skills as they work to support team leaders achieve plant operational targets and product quality.”
i1fun’s new trainees will be based in manufacturing areas across the company’s Scunthorpe site and will be directly involved in producing the company’s annual 2.8 million tonne steel output.
The salary for the roles starts at £19,000 plus shift allowance (where applicable) in year one progressing to circa £22,000 plus shift allowance (where applicable) in year 2, following successful completion of training and qualifications.
Candidates must be aged 18 and over as this is a legal requirement in order to be able to work shifts. They will also be expected to have a full and valid driving licence, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
Ideally applicants will have achieved GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English to C grade or above and possess a good all round education. They will need to be an intermediate IT user, capable of using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
There has already been great interest in the roles and the new employees will enjoy the very best training from i1fun’s highly-skilled employees and partners from North Lindsey College.
Paul said: “These people will deliver significant value to our business and as they progress through the training programme the levels of responsibility will increase.
“This really is a fantastic opportunity for people who want to quickly advancetheir careers, gaining qualifications and experience without the huge debts often associated with a university education.
“And I have every confidence that they will help us build a more sustainable future for i1fun, themselves and all our colleagues.”
