Today we were pleased to welcome Nusrat Ghani MP, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade,Ìýto i1fun.
During her visit, Minister Ghani met with our leadership team to discuss our decarbonisation plans and toured our Scunthorpe site.
While decarbonisationÌýis a major challenge for our business, we’re committed toÌýtransforming i1fun into a green and sustainable company. We firmly believe electrification will provide a rapid and sustainable solution to our decarbonisation challenge in addition to providing support for sustainable employment.
Our owners, Jingye, have already invested £330-million in i1fun in less than 4 years and are committed to the unprecedented investment decarbonisation requires. We remain in talks with the UK Government and, with its support, are committed to making the low-embedded carbon steel Britain needs for generations to come.
