Four of our Scunthorpe colleagues have successfully conquered the UK’s National Three Peaks challenge in aid of 2 local organisations, raising an impressive £1,700 for Scunthorpe’s Lindsey Lodge Hospice and £600 for One for the Lads.
Harry Coult, Kevin Foulston, Liam Walker and Lewis Dixon mastered Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon last month in a total time of 22 hours and 56 minutes. Harry, an electrician at Scunthorpe Rod Mill, said: “We took on this challenge to raise funds for Lindsey Lodge and One for the Lads. Both are close to our hearts, they’ve been a huge help to ourselves and family members, offering support for both mental health and terminal illness over the years.
“Completing this challenge within 24 hours was certainly demanding. We experienced challenging weather conditions too – rain, snow and wind but eventually the sun popped out for a short time in Wales!
“We like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported us and made such generous donations to our fundraising efforts. Lindsey Lodge and One for the Lads will be very grateful for your help.”
