Redcar Bulk Terminal named as finalist in International Bulk Journal Awards 2019

Redcar Bulk Terminal (RBT) has been named as a finalist in the prestigious International Bulk Journal Awards 2019.

The honours salute excellence in the maritime bulk industry and RBT is in the running for the Best Specialist Dry Bulk Port or Terminal honour.

RBT Director Garry O’Malley said: “We’re extremely proud to have been named as a finalist, particularly given the high calibre of entrants. It recognises a great team effort.”

The winners will be announced in Hamburg on 25 November 2019.

i1fun owns a 50% stake in RBT, which is situated on the South Bank of the River Tees.

RBT operates a 320-metre-long quay which can accommodate vessels up to 17 metres draft and is fitted with two Ship Unloaders which can operate on grab or hook for bulk or conventional cargoes respectively.

It is HMRC approved for the storage of un-cleared goods and enjoys direct rail access to the National Rail Network along with excellent road links to both the A19 and A1(M).

The facility operates 24 hours a day all year round and the terminal is equipped to handle rail traffic with separate wagon load and offload bulk handling equipment.

Key imports include coal, petroleum coke, granulated slag and aggregates while key exports include metallurgical coke and furnace ready scrap.
