Bulb Flats

Bulb flats are the most cost-effective, efficient and corrosion-resistant solution for plate stiffening.ÌýThey deliver buckling resistance at a lower weight than flat bars or angles and thanks to their rounded edges, there is no need for edge grinding before painting, saving time and money.

We help customers to adhere to project schedules thanks to our regular rolling programme for all bulb flat products. We offer a convenient, local service through our international network of sales offices.

Wide range

We supply bulb flats in a wide range of steel types and grades. We also offer a choice of finishing services to meet our customers' needs. These include:

• Shotblasting and priming – using a range of industry standardÌýpre-fabrication primers to provide improved fabrication performance and protection
• Weld edge preparation to reduce preparation required for automated welding
• A range of enhanced dimensional tolerances giving further weight and engineering enhancements to your designs

Dimensional availability

Bulb flats are available in the following ranges:

• Widths from 160 to 430mm
• Thicknesses from 7 to 20mm
