Grand Central Hotel

Hundreds of tonnes of British steel has transformed Northern Ireland’s biggest hotel.

Our local distribution centre in Lisburn has worked with construction company Fabrite to supply structural steel sections to the prestigious Grand Central Hotel development in Belfast city centre.

Fabrite is a multi-faceted construction provider offering design and build project solutions throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. It focuses primarily on structural steelwork, architectural metalwork and facade elements.

The Grand Central Hotel is now complete with the owners’ multi-million-pound investment rejuvenating the former Windsor House (an office building constructed in 1974) on Belfast’s Bedford Street.

The 23-storey hotel boasts more than 300 luxury bedrooms, a restaurant, bistro, rooftop lounge, retail units and a range of superbly appointed offices. It also employs more than 150 people.

Fabrite Managing Director Kenny McAleenon said: “Before Fabrite placed an order with i1fun they received a schedule for cutting which had minimum waste and gave Fabrite an overall cost of material.

“Throughout the project i1fun have been proactive by giving Fabrite a ‘call off’ delivery service which is excellent for phase planning of production and installation.”
